Feel Good Beauty Buys

Hi Guys,

I'm always searching for beauty products that fit with what I stand for & ethical companies I want to support... WELL, I am so excited that I stumbled across an amazing online store called Peachy Clean - an Organic Beauty Boutique!
Feel Good Shopping Heaven!!!
Created by an inspirational, health-concsious, environmentally-minded woman, she has done all the groundwork to ensure that what you are buying is 100% natural, organic & cruelty free. No toxic nasties & no need to research yourself! We are swamped with natural this & organic that and unless you fully research the product, sometimes the product doesn't match up with what is being advertised.

For my first purchase, I chose 3 different goodies, although it was VERY hard to figure out what I wanted!

1.  Floriosa Soy Candle "Fleur De Cassis" - It's burning now & I want to eat it! It smells soooo good. It is heavily scented with blackcurrent, rose petals, rose musk & nectarine.
Plus, it is a soy candle & I'm staying away from traditional wax candles now. I am addicted to buring candles day & night in my house (even at breakfast time). I don't want toxic/harmful ones "buring a hole" in my health & environment!! There are lots of yummy luxurious scents to choose from.

2. Eco Tan Winter Skin - For those who know me well, I am a "tanaholic"! Fake, not bake, that is : ) I am very excited to see how my newest tanning purchase pans out... This is a beautiful light daily tanner that nourishes the skin. My skin feels very soft & smooth & I certainly don't smell like "fake tan" either. I think this will be great for maintaining my fortnightly (sometimes weekly spray) as I can also use on my face too : )

My fave part is that it is vegan, cruelty free & certified organic by the Australian Organic Food Chain. It also comes in a recyclable pump bottle. Eco Tan is a very inspirational & ethical company who I am very happy to support!

3. Vanessa Megan Lip Balm - My new lip saviour! No more petroleum based lip products for me (good-bye Lucas Papaw!) Vanessa Megan produces 100% orgnaic & natural skin care. I love their little catch phrase "skin blessed by the earth" - says it all really...

All ingredients are certified organic -  Sunflower Oil, Coconut Oil, Beeswax, Jojoba Oil, Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Evening Primrose Oil & Natural Vitamin E. It doesn't have a scent or taste either which I prefer.
These are $9.50 and such a bargain buy, so good for the lips & good for the hips! (pocket that is)

For a one stop shop, they are all available online at Peachy Clean

Hope you find some goodies for yourself or your loved ones!
I'm off to bed now with soft, glowing skin; hydrated, smooth lips & a room filled with a heavenly scent! Sweet Dreams xx

Eat, Pray, Love & Pesto

Hi Guys,

Hope you have had a good start to the week!

Well today is my "weekend". I worked over the weekend so Monday is the day I try & get food stocked, food prepared & house cleaned! Stocked my fridge with lots of organic fruit & veg - bags of orgainc bananas are so cheap at the moment (got 8 for $2.99). I use to not care about buying organic bananas because I thought that the skin would protect the actual fruit - however, my good friend Linda, for years, was never able to eat bananas because they made her sick, until her Uncle suggested she try organic ones and low & behold, she doesn't get sick off them! So, it makes you wonder, just because you might not feel sick right after eating  non-organic food, what are we really putting in to our bodies long term, by not choosing as much organic foods as possible??

Got a little inspired by Eat, Pray, Love soundtrack to cook Italian this arvo... love this soundtrack! I play it while I clean & cook and when we have people over for dinner. Such easy listeneing and gets you into a kind of cultural, festive mood : )

After whipping up a risotto for tonights dinner, I made a pesto to keep in the fridge for those nights I can't be bothered cooking. Make this pesto at the start of the week and mid or end of week, when the last thing you want to do is cook, all you need to do is boil some water, throw in some pasta & toss some home-made pesto through!

This Pesto is super easy & without parmesan. Instead, I use Nutritional Yeast for that cheesy flavour, so great as an alternative to fatty cheese that is hard to digest, or for those who are lactose intolerant.

Nutritional Yeast provides one of the richest sources of the B-group vitamins & trace elements.
It is purely a natural food that can be used as an alternative to cheese on
pizza, pasta, soups & dressings.

Pesto Recipe (dairy free)

Ingrediants for 2

Bunch of Basil
Bunch of Parsley
1/4 C toasted Pinenuts
2 T EVOO
2-3 Cloves of Garlic
2-3 T Nutritional Yeast

Directions

Place in a food processor & process until combined
Store in airtight container - add a drizzle of EVOO over the top to keep fresh
Toss through pasta of choice

Optional Extras

Put on some feel good music while preparing
Make double, put in small recycled jar & label, to give to a neighbour, friend or family!

Well, hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do and enjoy the rest of your week! Back to work tomorow for me, but at least I have a few meals prepared : )

Welcome!!

Hey Guys!! So I'm sitting here listening to Norah, candle lit, flowers all around, attempting my very first post! Have had a very inspiring day today.
Love having a day off during the week because it kind of feels like you have it better than everybody else who's working :)

Started with a yoga class this morning down at Safety Bay Yacht Club.

The view here is amazing & I'm lucky enough to live 2 mins away : ) The Yacht Club has old wooden floors which I love, that makes it feel even more holistic. This class is run by Kim who's been teaching in Rockingham for years. He is fantastic. Everyone gets to class 20-30 mins early to stretch which I think helps with the actual class. I feel so good after yoga & really feel a difference. Come join me one day... I go to Saturday morning & will start going to Monday night classes too.

View from class... not sure what the black dots are though... on the lens I think!
After yoga I made a trip up to my gorgeous friend Paula's shop in Mosman Park.
Petite Couture on Glyde is so amazing it will need it's very own post so watch this space for now!
Purchased some gifts for expectant & new Mum's... can't post pics in case they seeee : )
I then decided to grab some sushi @ the Boatshed and couldn't resist some fresh flowers. Orange tulips & some other dark pink flowers that looked interesting.
I think fresh flowers can lift your day & I always have some sort of flowers around the house
Waiting for Tulips to open
While I was waiting for my flowers to be wrapped, I spotted some cute cards. I bought all four... not sure for who, but I think it's handy to have a selection when the need arises. Whether it be for a birthday, thank-you note or get better soon, these little cards are so pretty they would make anyone smile : )

Well, thanks for reading my first blog! I hope these little everyday things inspire you too.
Happy Days!

Love a florist who uses brown paper to wrap! Classic!
